very informative - By: love reading, 14 Aug 2008
I don't know much about about NLP & find it confusing. This book is very helpful, albeit there is still much jargon to sift through. The techniques I have tried work amazingly well. It is a lot to learn but I'm going back through material as I want to use it for myself & for others. This book is the best I have come across on this complicated but very interesting subject.
Great book - By: Andrea Allen, 10 Apr 2008
I am new to NLP & I found this book to be clearly written, concise & very well structured. It has given me an excellent understanding of how the processes, concepts & tools work. It will take a good amount of commitment to learn the whole book but definitely worth it. I can believe that you won't have to do a course necessarily if you assimilate the book & actively apply the principles.
Dreadful book - By: A. Kearney, 18 Mar 2008
Ignore the hype of other reviewers I like that other reviewer lost the will to live after the first chapter but forced myself to re-onto chapter 4 & still it was such tough going... way too high level rubbish. as previous reviewer said a quick glance at the first few pages would ahve told me instantly it was NOT FOR ME... definitely not for beginners like myself
A Different Perspective - By: bunzena, 12 Mar 2008
What a crashing disappointment this book is. I bought it on the strength of reviews here - & have found to my cost - I should have looked at itin a bookshop first. I was looking for a book that could help me get to understand NLP & to apply it through my work. I intended to read the book 'cover to cover' - but lost the will to read further after the first chapter. Dippingin & out proved no more rewarding. In contrast to the other reviews here, I found the content hard to get to grips with. A mixture of jargon & precepts - mixedin with some ridiculous 'examples' ["Some parts of your physiology will always remain unconscious - the carbon dioxide concentrationin the blood..."]. Some of the action plan/exercises made me laugh out loud ["Watch the film The Matrix on video. If you have already seen it, watch it again. If you were the protagonistin the film, would you have taken the blue or red pill? And how do you know you are notin the Matrix 'for real'?"].
I firmly believe that the cause of NLP isn't well served by this book. Do some research before you buy!
Fantastic Book - By: SC MacCormack, 15 Sep 2007
This book is simply the best NLP book on the market & I've read a few. It covers all the basics but continues on to some more advanced techniques. It's easily laid out with good, simple explanations & comprehensive strategies for pretty much every scenario. What I really like though is the quick index, it makes finding the topic you're looking for really easy. If you're interestedin NLP & want a reference book that's useful time & time again then this is the book.
