As a self-proclaimed boho clad yummy-mummy (well I'd like to be) - definitely more flash packer than back packer, I must say I found this book a bitter disappointment. It is, for all intents & purposes, a beautifully styled extended magazine feature - the sort of thing you might findin "Cosmopolitan" with lots of photos or pink, floral & retro-style camping accessories but very little substance. In a simillar vein - a much, much better & robust read is "The Happy Campers" by Tess Carr & Kat Heyes.

A pretty cool book actually, some nice tips & the recipies looked good. Its a little "rose tinted specs" at some points (ie I won't be taking my cashmere socks or my quail's eggs to camp!), but overall, it made me want to go camping now!

I had never really thought about going camping before, but after reading this book its something I really want to get into ... Camping doesn't have to be the poor alternative for a break away!
I definetly recommend this book to anyone thinking of going camping!
The Cosmo guide to camping for the vacuous - By: book barnesey, 02 Sep 2006 Truly awfull book. Laughable cliches & lazily put together. I would not recommend going for the two 'cool camping' books deal. The one by Jonathan Knight is ok. But this is just a waste of trees.
