An entertaining mystery - By: , 04 Feb 1999
Callahan must solve the murder of her brother's round-heeled ex-wife before the police arrest him & ruin her mother's Christmas. Although the actual culprit is fairly easy to spot it's great fun to watch Callahan work her way out of a tough situation; her brother is no angel & her mother is not quite the strong woman she used to be.
The zany friends & employees are back, & if they appear all too briefly, they are as amusing as ever.
You can always count on this brand of Southern humor... - By: , 03 Feb 1999
Trocheck delivers again. Having grown upin Atlanta only two miles from Funtown, I felt this familiar, old setting come alive again. Anyone who loves good, clean humor plus mystery plus lots of local flavor will love Trocheck. Sister & Baby are priceless!

The Garrity's are at it again! - By: , 17 Dec 1998
I have read all of Ms. Trochecks stories about Callahan Garrity & love each one more & more. The House Mouse crew are great characters; funny, crazy, exuberant. The stories are always interesting, always believable, always with a social issues we should be aware of. Brian, her long lost brother, comes home with his daughter & leaves Maura with Mom & Callahan. Unfortunately Maura's mom is not around to protest too long, but her mother does. Here is real troublein a family. I like stories where I can root for the good guy to win, & does. They make you think & realize even when you win, someone losses. I hope she continues to write more, I will certainly be reading them.
