Can not recommend this book highly enough. Just as the title suggests it revolves around the Yankees World Seris game 7 against the DiamondBacks taking you through the game, detailing the characters & their background & involvementin the Yankee dynasty that would end with this game. You do not need to be interestedin baseball to be intralled by this rich tapestry of life & human endeavour. Even the rich & famous have to live with their demons...
Why is Rivera on the cover? - By: Le George, 02 Aug 2008 On reading this book you get an understanding of why Mariano Rivera is on the front cover. Because this book is less about THAT baseball game, & more about the lives of the people involved. And to that end, Rivera comes across not only as a great player but also as a great person.
The story is one of dignityin defeat. And Rivera has it.
The book is a joy because it confirms or destroys,in equal measures, your long held views of the biggest starsin the game, & does so by weaving their life stories around their involvement on that night at the BOB.
You really won't take long to read it.

Buster Olney has obviously done a tremendous amount of research into the topic & it has paid off with a well informed narrative centred around the Yankees World Series game 7 defeat to Arizona Diamondbacks.
The stories Olney relates give a wonderful insight into characters like Steinbrenner, Cashman & Clemens, add to this a few humourous anecdotes (especially surrounding David Wells) & you have a must read for Yankee fans & haters (such as myself!)
