This book is great! It should be required reading for all children who are about to become teen-agers, & for all parents whose children are about to become teen-agers.
Hilarious and Insightful - By: , 01 Jul 1999 My sister & I have read this book at least 15 times apiece. And yes, we do have lives. Dinky is one of my all time favorite characters; her wit & sarcasism is unmatched! I even enjoy the straight-laced character P. John Knight; many witticisms of his own. The supposed main character, Tucker, doesn't possess near the depth of the aforementioned characters--he acts primarily as the "straight man" for the more colorful personalities. The story transcends time; many of the issues portrayed still occur today. A true winner! I'll read it 15 more times.
This wasn't a bad book at all. - By: , 17 Apr 1999 This is a good book with real life characters & real problems that teenagers really go through. This is a good book to leave at the side of your bed to read at night. For those of you who plan on doing a report on this book, this isn't the best book to do a report because the main conflict isn't the greatest thing to do & it's not that exciting.(Believe me i'm doing a project on it now)
I like when the kid who shot smack threatened P. John. - By: , 12 Nov 1998 Dinky Hocker is a great book. I really enjoyed it because it related to some situations kids could experiencein their life. I also found this book humorous because of some remarks Dinky made. It was a great, snazzy, jazzy, hip, smooth, kicking, hip to the beat book.
