A very well laid out book, with all aspects of SMPS design coveredin an easy to read manner.
You could easily find yourself reading & fully understanding chapter after chapterin a single sitting, as everything is explained superbly &in a down to earth manner.
I originally put off purchasing this book due to the high price, but now I've got it, it really is indispensable & well worth it. Buy It !!

Speaking from a beginners point of view, this book is extremely useful & well written enough to facilitate understanding of the basics of SMPS design. The only put off is the hefty price tag, but I would say it is worth it.
Excellent practical guide - By: john.hope@vistek.co.uk, 19 Nov 1999 This book is highly recommended for persons actively engagedin designing practical switchmode supplies. Inductor & transformer design is particularly thoroughly covered & SI units are used for all calculations. The book is very readable, with detail math confined to appendices. Billings covers less material than Pressman ('Switching Power Supply Design'), but goes into more practical detail. These two books complement each other very well.
