What's so good about this book? - By: CJL, 14 May 2008
Full of chit-chatty woffle & doesn't cut to the chase. Lots of opinions about technology from the author but very few practical instructions of how to get anything done. Maybe it's supposed to be read like a story book, but it's useless as a handy reference guide, especially if you already have general electronics knowledge & just want to find out how to make LabVIEW work - a nightmare with or without a book!
Students Beware - By: , 24 Feb 1999
I purchased this book as a reference for Serial interfacing for my assignment at University. The book itself was very good, & clearly explained various communication links & problems that you may encounter. Unfortunately, when I went to look at some of the VI's, locations of which were different to those specifiedin the book, the VI's were writtenin a later version that the one I had, so was unable to view them. N.B. To all students who are looking at this book, be warned the VIs on the CD will not workin LabVIEW 3.1 Student Edition
Best "Practical application of Labview book" - By: , 12 Jun 1998
I am a user of both Gary's book & the other person's book & I find myself reaching for Gary's book far more often than the other on. He covers some very advanced topics that are practical to many of us. His writing style allow for easy reading. The CD that is included has so many VI's that you will now know where to start
