A must-have, for all studying QM - By: Rational Rob, 17 Oct 2007
As with most of the Schaum's series, this book is clear & straight to the point. I wouldn't try & learn QM directly from it, but it would certainly compliment a more introductory book, nicely (check out 'Quantum Mechanis Demystified' for a wonderful & clear intro to the math of QM).
An essential supplement/self-teaching guide. - By: , 20 May 1999
This Schaum's outline is a dream come true for physics majors. Sure, the presentation of the theory is ridiculously brief as it isin all of the outlines, but the wealth of solved problems is why people by them. A dedicated student could work through the entire outlinein one summer. As you might expect it does not cover every topic & application, but all of the basics are here. It is actually a bit lackingin supplementary problems, but you will probably be busy working thosein your assigned text anyways. The chapter on numerical solutions is unfortunately writtenin FORTRAN instead of C or C++. I hope the folks at Scaum's, which is a division of McGraw-Hill, come out with outlinesin statistical physics & electromagnetism for physics(they have a watered-down outline for EE majors).
