This collection of inspirational words & teachings of Ramana Maharshi are inspiring. His understanding of the spiritual heart of man was certainly 'enlightened' & is for the seasoned seeker, or somebody who has already read other material which leads you this far.
It will not be for everyone today, but it will be for everyone someday.

Yes, it's a classic! - By: Marc John, 18 Jul 2006 This guy certainly knew the truth about what spirituality is all about - discovering the real, mysterious Self ever present within you. The only criticism of the great man is that he didn't seem to understand just how difficult it can be for the average seeker to grasp this teaching & apply it. If enlightenment were so easy we'd all be good at achieving it, & at timesin this book you feel the great man's wisdom was compromised slightly by an ironic lack of sensitivity appreciating that finding the Self is not as straightforward & simple as he suggests. However, it's a masterful display of spiritual wisdom & advice. Although, you are also left wondering if a man/book like this can come into the world & mass society is STILL left mostlyin spiritual darkness, what chance is there ever of mass enlightenment. The message I suppose, is that we all have to save ourselves & not worry about the rest! The world changes the instance you change YOURSELF. Read this book & good luck.
Truthful and sensitive presentation of Ramana Maharshi - By: , 04 Aug 1999 I have read many books about Ramana Maharshi & his teaching, but this one is THE BEST. Ramana Maharshi was one of the greatest spiritual masters of this century, & this beautiful book does him full justice.
