This book is ok for outlining various specialties but is now entirely wrongin terms of the training paths since MMC has been implemented. Is there going to be an update? Otherwise not very helpful.
Great Book, but 3 Years Late - By: C. Smith, 25 Jun 2007
This book is great for specialties & a general guidance to medical school, but do not rely on it for career guidance. It is old & dated compared to the MMC new structures. It also has no coverage of MTAS as such.
Somewhat out of date - By: Mr. C. Reynolds, 19 Dec 2006
Although this book is still an excellent resource with regard to specialty profiles & a general overview of various parts of medical careers, readers should note that the section on Postgraduate Education is now very out of date & does not include any information on the Foundation Years, instituted by the Modernising Medical Careers (NHS) frameworkin 2006.
Not informative enough - By: , 22 Jun 2005
I expected a lot from this book to make a decision. The previews reviews were excellent, but I have a feeling they may have come from the actual authors?? It's OK, but not really informative enough.
one word - fantastic - By: , 14 Apr 2003
this book provides a great breakdown about uk specialties & the training pathways & exams needed for them. being an international student i was pretty lost about what came after medical school, but now i am found!! opens your mind to options you also may never have thought about if you didn't have any exposure to them previously (opthalmology anyone??) fantastic place to startin considering your future career while a medical student.
now if only someone would write one as straightforward for the U.S. system...
