After briefly discussing mechanisms of action, it discusses the common causes of different infectious syndromes as well as appropriate antibiotic selection. It nicely complements the material foundin traditional organism-focused microbiology texts such as "Medical Microbiology" by Greenwood et al. The introduction says the book is based on lectures given at Nottingham. I only wish the lectures at my medical school had been anything like this good...
