A must for the novice. - By: DR SAMEER RANJAN, 19 Jun 2002
This book is a must for the novice anasethetist. It lays out everything, & I mean everything,in a structured format. When you're on call & not sure how to approach a case, this book will tell you how. The only problem is it's big,. but then I guess that can't be helped. If you thinking should I buy this book? Then don't think just buy it, you won't be disappointed.
A must for all anaesthetists - By: , 27 May 2002
This latest addition to the Oxford Handbook range is a truly magic little book. It is clinically orientated (divided into preoperative and
perioperative sections), contains a comprehensive drug formulary, plus detailed & useful chapters on Paediatric & Obstetric anaesthesia. The
scope is broadly aimed at senior trainees, but I have found the book to be extremely useful myself for 'checking' block techniques, rare syndromes & before teaching sessions. Overall it is a must for all anaesthetists & great value for money.
A pocket size mental aid for all grades of anaesthetists - By: , 09 May 2002
Anaesthetists have been crying out for a book of this type & size. With the now familiar approach of the Oxford handbooks, this pocket size but weighty tome will be welcome to young & old gasboys & girls. Its approach is systematic on pre-op assessment, anaesthesia for all manner of surgical specialties, emergencies & practical information. The section on regional anaesthesia is particularly useful as are the emergency protocolsin the inside covers. I found this to be just the sort of book to keepin my bagin theatre when an mental nudge is required. I have told all of my trainees about it...
