This book covers everything you need to know about the applications & methodologies of plant biotechnology. A brilliant & comprehensive aid for undergraduates & MSc students covering the subject for the first time & extremely useful even to researchers who need a breadth of visionin their field. It is writtenin an interesting style with plenty of general & specific references to the literature. Definitely superior to other such booksin this field.
Fantastic Biotechnology Resource - By: The Martster, 12 Nov 2003 The worst thing about this book is that it wasn't published when I was an undergraduate! This book primarily focuses on what biotechnology can do for plants (Bt pest resistance, saline tolerance etc.), this is not surprising as agriculture is the main commercial drive behind such research however some considerations has been given to what plants can do for biotechnology & molecular biologyin general.
The diagramsin this book are a little basic however they are effectivein conveying the principles described. To conclude I strongly recommend this book to undergraduates, postgraduates & anyone with an interest with the biotechnological applications that are possible within plant systems.
