Got cancer? Then see a doctor, not a homeopath. - By: Robert Macmillan, 22 Aug 2008
What a wonderful thing homeopathy is. Take a bit of a plant, put itin some alcohol. Dilute it with water until there is no trace of the original left. Dilute it more. And more. And more. Call this a "remedy" & sell it to people too stupid to realise it can't help them. Tell them if their symptoms go away the remedy worked. If their symptoms didn't go away they chose the wrong remedy. You have to be a very expert homeopath to know the right remedy, you know. By the way homeopathic remedies are all safe because the original substance has become so diluted it can't possibly do you any harm.
I'm going to make my own homeopathic remedy. A bit of this, a bit of that, a bit of all the substances, diluted so much it can't possibly do you any harm & then when you take it the one that will help you will fix your symptoms. "Robert's Patent Homeopathic Potency" I'll call it. I'll set upin practice, put on a white coat & charge people for my sugar water. Well, it will be easier than working.
how up to date is this book? - By: Julia More, 12 Mar 2007
Of the many & varied tomes I buy via your website I have never felt strongly enough to openly criticise a book. This book describes itself as the 'safe form of medicine for the future' but I have my doubts, as the entry on 'autism' (for example) is way out of date & refers to theories of autism which were outmoded & discredited decades ago. In the interests of brevity & clarity it has sacrificed accuracyin my opinion. This makes me wonder how sound the rest of the medical information is? As diagnostic rates of autism increase across the world due to better understanding & diagnosis, it is worrying that such a well-known book should be so short on current knowledge & thinking!
Everyone home should have one - By: Ms. A. R. Richardson, 09 Feb 2007
I have used this over the years for children & adults - excellent, detailed, clear recommendations for the lay person. If you are new to homeopathy do not be overwhelmed by the strange names; just put it by your bed to leaf through & gradually acquaint yourself with the homeopathic approach. I have successfully avoided antibiotics, steroid creams & even a hospital treatment for my family using this comprehensive bible. Dr Lockie never puts you at risk & always advocates the safest option.
An excellent reference book - By: Yorkshire exile, 06 Jun 2001
I have been borrowing my friends copy whilst eagerly awaiting my own copy. The book is divided into section dealing with What is Homeopathy; Prevention is better than cure; First Aid; Ailments & Diseases; Nutritional Supplements & Special Diets. I have often been concerned that when reading other Homeopathy books the reader may feel over confident & that they no longer need to seek medical advice for anything! This book written, by a GP, gives clear indication that the lay person should not think that by following this book they can dispense with professionally trained help. Dr Lockie gives warnings when help should be sought. He also suggests that if possible one should consult a medically qualified homeopathic physician. If this is not possible one should then consult a qualified homoepath but under the continuing observation of ones GP. I believe that The Family Guide to Homeopathy by Andrew Lockie is an excellent reference book.
Excellent book. Recomended as a quick and safe reference. - By: RT, 18 Apr 2001
I first used this book, when I discovered that I had an infection (abscess) on my hand that was infected & solen. I followed carefully the instructionsin this book, & as if by miracle, I managed not to take antibiotics, which was the suggestion of all "classical" doctors I visited. Ever since I have tried it a few more times, having always the best results & very fast. I recomended it as a book that should bein every library as a first aid book.
