It is too Generic - By: mfathy@tamima.com.eg, 30 Dec 2000
I really didn't like this book, there is no real value addedin it, the info displayed are too generic to an extent you cann't benefit from it.
Great stuff here - By: , 27 Jul 2000
I have been tradingin UK stocks now for nearly a year, I have found this an indispensible reference & tutor on some of the more basic things I missed, but more importantly on the advanced material I was not aware of.
It is very well written, notin a nerdy, geeky style with lots of humour & real life experiences.
Well recommended.
Only for the very inexperienced - By: J. Pendleton, 24 Jul 2000
I bought this book after two months of dealing, some of that time on-line. I have to say I learnt nothing from it, save the penultimate chapter which tells you how to interpret indicators on graphs. If you were brand new to on-line share dealing/investigation etc., then this book would be useful, albeit with it's favouritism towards Microsoft, whichin my opinion is unwarranted. If you've been at it for a while, forget this, you can work out most of the sites yourself, & a look at any Bulletin board will lead you to other sites. I found the book scant on the info it did provide, not comprehensive on anything you actually wanted info on (eg. short selling, futures, options), & all writtenin a very dry, formulaic manner A far better read is 'Reminiscences of a Stock Operator' by Edwine Lefevre.
Very Useful - By: , 21 Mar 2000
Really useful guide to what to look forin top trading sites, & which ones to go to. My investing has become a lot easier because I could get the references for how to use particular sites.
Lots of insight on fundamentals & where to get the data plus some very useful appendices & chapters on topics such as e-zines, newsletters.
Not bad in the basics but if most of it is fairly obvious - By: , 19 Mar 2000
Not badin the basics but if you have even the slightest clue about investing, you will learn very little from this book.A much better idea would be to go to a search engine & typein something like "stockmarket + investing ".There are some brilliant sites out there, particuarly smartmoney.com, marketguide.co.uk & moneynet.com.You will learn much more useful info out there- at least try it first!
