As an owner of a pack of dogs (5) I've tried every training method going, & I can confirm that using a sensible selection of most methods works!! I totally agree with alot of Cesars ideas & am extreamly against some of his other thoughts. I know that I have to have control of my dogs & since having training with a local behaviourist who believes, as Cesar does,in working with the pack, as a pack it's changed the way my dogs & I work together.
Use your common sense, don't follow anyone's advise blindly. If clicker training works for your dog, then use it but if it doesn't keep trying other methods. Alright you might not like negative reinforcement but if it's the difference betweening owning a untrained pack of dogs (a potentally extreamly dangerous situation) & a happy, safe pack of dogs...well it's a no-brainer to me.

This book & 'Cesears way' have become bibles for my partner & me. We hadn't had a dog before so were pleasantly surprised to find that alot of our ideas were being used by Cesear :-). We now have more ideas, confidence & it appears, a happier dog - which has got to be what everyone is after!
Immensley helpful & a really enjoyable read - Cesear Millan is a star:-)
Eye Opener - By: Dawn H Bush, 01 Dec 2007 I have read 'Cesar's Way' & this one, & quite simply both should be mandatory reading for all dog owners. People who have never owned a dominant / aggressive dog really have no idea.
My problems really beganin a local Pet Store when an assistant approached with a 'coo chee coo chee coo' attitude & wouldn't back off, my pup didn't like it but I allowed it to continue for the sake of politness. My position as 'Pack Leader & Defender' took a serious blow, thanks to Cesar Millan my position as Pack Leader is now re-established, & for anyone thinking that this is my first dog, wrong, I have owned many & trained many & read a multitude af training manuals, but this is my first dominant dog

Cesars Way for Everyday - By: J. Sampson, 28 Nov 2007 This book is amazing, Cesar is fantastic, a lot of what isin this book can be used & appliedin every day life not only for dogs but humans too. Cesar is a diamond, he has much wisdom & a lot of common sense. Both books offer so much information that is useful. If you read no other book read this one.
A Lot Can Be Learned - By: Eric Draven, 04 Nov 2007 I have read both of Cesar's books & have really learned a lot from them. His techniques have impacted my dog's life. His 1st was a lessonin dog behavior & how to deal with their issues that usually lead to bad behavior. This new book helps both the dog & the human by establishing how to be the leaderin your dog's life. He gives many examples of how to be a calm assertive leader as well as why this state of mind is so important. I REALLY recommend this book & the book "Understanding: Train of Thought" to all.
