After hearing, that Mounce's is the vine's for the 21st century, it is better than vines, I got one, only to remember the words "do not put faithin every word" . I do admit that it does have some advantages of Vine's, i.e. easier to use, to say it is better I can't not agree. Mounce's is more interestedin putting over his personal beliefs rather than reflecting on the meaning of the word. If I wanted a book on doctrine I would have got one. As a reference work it is still of benefit, I glad I have one, but vine's is the one I find most useful

Mounces Complete Expository Dictionary is EXCELLENT.
More complete than Vines, More up to date than Vines, More accurate than Vines!!
Primarily uses NIV as text, however does make reference to other versions including the ESV [MOUNCE WAS ONE OF THE ESV New Testament translators].
The dictionary primarily uses GK numbers, but also includes the equivalent Strongs's number, so what ever system you use it is easy to cross reference.I highly recommend this publication.
