I received this set for Christmas. Great present & even better tool for self exploration. The book is first class, clear explanations of the symbolic meaning of each animal. Well written & wise without being patronising. But will someone do something about the cards. The quality of the card is poor, the backs of the cards are off putting, bright turquoise with a yellow lightening flash, not conducive to a meditative state of mind. The face of the cards are slightly better, the animals are well illustrated & detailed but only form a small portion of the card, the rest of the card depicts one of nine different sets of amulets, which imply that there is some significancein the association between these amulets & the animal. I have not yet found an explanation for this association & to be frank they do not add anything to the cards, they are probably a filler rather than anything else. I'm also not fond of the red line that frames the cards. It might have been nice to have colour better associated with the animals & the medicine wheel as a frame. Suggests a lack of visual sophistication or maybe these cards were an after thought. Shame... I would like to feel more comfortable using this deck.
Altogether, the book is first class but the cards are disappointing.

This book & it's cards took me by surprise. I have never been into the use of any type of cards & bought it from an interest & curiousity of the native american seeing of the animals. The book offers a wide range of use with a continous depth to the teachings & understanding to the beginner, the seeker & the experienced deepener. My use of it has expanded & deepend. I have become much more open to signsin the nature & to my own path as a human from listening to the medicine of the animals.
I recommend this with book with my deep appreciation.

Powell, 25 Sep 2005 I have been reading tarot cards for 10 years, & though I have faithin the messages/guidance they give, these cards have the edgein my opinion. They are well illustrated, without being too 'crowded' or too plain. The book is easy to read, whereby both beginners to divination, & advanced practitioners will be able to get something out of the descriptions attributed to each card. In addition, each story attributed to a particular animal warms the heart, & makes that particular card come alive, being easier to remember. With regards the spreads & subsequent reading, I am astounded at the depth & accuracy. These really do expose the real 'you' whilst still maintaining a gentleness. For anyone who is interestedin learning about themselves, & their personal development I would have no hesitationin recommending these cards. There is also the added bonus of being able to create your own cards to include with this deck - something I found very advantageous. I now have two decks as I wanted to have one at home, & one accessable at work!
Guidance from All of Our Relations - By: Josie, 03 Mar 2005 This is a delightful pack of cards - they are well finished & lovely to handle. The art work is beautiful & charming.
Each card depicts an animal on its Medicine Shield & the accompanying book throughly explores the stories & teachings that each creature brings to us.
I have found them to be very accurate, always managing to gently touch the truth of each situation. A wonderful tool for journalling & personal growth.
I recommend them highly.

The book itself is beautifully written & describes the animalsin a true light.I definitely recommend it to anyone interstedin this healing method.
