Good, but very American - By: P. A. Downs, 23 Feb 2008
This is an American book, so some of the banking details don't apply. The references to God are also much more frequent than most British readers would think relevantin a book about finance (I'm fairly religious myself, but even so I thought there were a few sermons too many). That said, if you're starting to worry about repaying student loans, or that the credit card minimum payments are creeping up & up, it's a very good, practical book. It suggests a good way of tracking your income, planning for the unexpected expense, & of paying off your current debts quickly.
If you'rein serious financial trouble, try Jerrold Mundis's 'How to get out of debt'. If you're just starting to get worried, try this book.
One way to save your money is to not buy this book!!!! - By: , 08 Feb 2006
I am absolutely appalled, this is no help at all!!I don't want to know about God & American banking systems!!! This book is simply filled with a lot of tosh thatin no way helped me.I felt I had not only wasted my moneyin buying this but also my timein reading it.The only way the author got out of debt must of been by writing this nonsense & selling it to gullible people like me!!
What a source of inspiration!!! - By: , 26 Jul 2004
This book covers it all. The author speaks as a person who has beenin debt & how she got out of the mess. I didn't specifically need advice on how to get out of debt, but her advice on having an instantly accessible contingency fund & how to save was excellent. This is a book to specifically recommend to all youngsters earning their first salary.
Great strategy for debt elimination! - By: , 12 Jun 1999
I read the book & I'm now on my second month of a 39 month "Rapid Debt Repayment Plan". This is how long it will take to pay off $25,000 of unsecured debt, by simply making CURRENT minimum monthly payments. The strategy is also shown online at "Cheapskate Monthly". Check it out, use it & start a new life!

Thank God for Mary Hunt! She hit me right between the eyes with reality. We startedin Spring 1995 with $70,000in debt. It has taken 3 1/2 years of hard work, butin 4 months we will be completely debt free except for our mortgage, & will bein the black for the first time since 1985. She saved our marriage, gave us back our sanity & ensured that our son will have a great future. Read this book!!!
