Eagerly awaited, yet a tad dissapointing - By: , 15 Dec 1999
Fun & entertaining, but no-where near as amazing as Legacy. Interesting developments with Avalon ecology, but nothing as intrinsicaly astonishing & unpredictable as Legacy & also grossly under-developed. A huge anticlimax at the end, left me needing to reread the first book. I also suspect that Niven & Pournelle didnt contribute to this as much, it lacks their style.
Greater than the first novel! - By: , 28 Jul 1999
Maybe that the charactar of Aaron is not realy realistic. But does this really matter? The novel covers everything that plays a rolein human & social relationships: individuality, egocentric behavior, humanity, love & a good deal of human defects. I liked reading the book - more even than the first one. Come on, guys, lets have a third novel. A trilogy, wouldn't that be an idea?
Wonderfully Entrancing - By: , 02 Jul 1999
This book was wonderful. I couldn't stop reading it. The Niven/Pournelle/Barnes triad isin top form here. Lots of great ideas & interesting ground covered. Only two disappointing parts: the "Big Mystery" is badly telegraphed part way into the book, & the ending is weak & a bit abrupt. Still, a great read & highly reccommended. Can't wait for the sequel.

This book is identicalin content to 'The Dragons of Heorot' ISBN 1-85723-373-5
Not too bad, but disappointing overall - By: , 19 Mar 1999
The Legacy of Heorot may have been just too big of an act to follow. The sequel was enjoyable reading, but just doesn't have the "in-your-face" impact of the original. Don't pass it up, however, if you're a fan!
