I missed the opportunity to read Bloom County when it was first publishedin the newspapers as I was too young & not American. But I did read this when I was growing up & I still pick up this collection when I need a laugh.
Asin the previous collection 'Five Years of Naughtiness' the characters & the storylines are funny. And whilst Breathed won a Pulitzer for this work, it is not overly political.
The storylines are out of this world including Bill the Cat's body being used as repository for Donald Trumps brain & my favourite Oliver Wendall Jones's Scalp Tonic Cure. When the scalp tonic is deemed illegal the price of it goes through the roof & Oliver & the rest of the team become rich until the government legalise it again.
This is just a classic of the genre & something to read & enjoy again & again.
