WHAT CAN I SAY?... - By: , 30 Dec 1998
... that's not been said already about this awesome, powerful, inspiring book? I can't recommend it highly enough. GET IT. READ IT. GIVE IT TO A GIRL YOU CARE ABOUT.
Terrific book! Great resource for girls! - By: , 01 Dec 1998
A great resource of ideas, activities, & role models for girls. The Girl's Guide to Life encourages girls to be self-confident & smart, & it gives them guidelines on how to do it! This is a book that I encourage guardians, parents, & mentors to add to the bookshelves of the girlsin their lives. I love the timeline of women's history highlights, the personal essays by leading women, the lists of resources for girls to contact, & the numerous how-to's throughout the book. Girls need many, many books like Catherine Dee's, books that help them feel good about themselves & that guide them on how to do wellin today's world.

I really liked this book. Ms. Dee spoke to a large group of usin Orlando & she was just as inspiringin person as what wasin the book. I recommend it to any girl who even thinks she needs to believe what others are tell her more than what she tells herself.

Great book: great ideas, great resource. - By: , 15 Sep 1998
I loved the book! It covers a wide range of topics of interest to girls & the adults who care about them. I'm a middle school counselor & feel this book addresses many of the issues facing the young women of today (sexual harassment, dating, gender equity). I especially appreciated its positive tone & practical ideas for action. It'd be a great classroom resource for research topics (womenin sport, history, & politics for starters). The book itself is informative, & the website listings are a wonderful springboard for further exploration & discussion. If you're a librarian, get it for your collection; if you're a parent, get it for your girl & help ensure she grows into the healthy woman she's meant to be.
What a great book! - By: , 28 Jul 1998
Girls should really be able to relate to the messagesin this book, & the way they're presented.
It's a great gift for mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, anyone who knows a 9 to 15 year old girl.
The book highlights the more important issues every girl should be aware of to preserve her self-esteem as she grows up.
Companies should hand it out on Take Our Daughters to Work Day, & let's not forget the boys. They should read it also. They might learn something about girls & possibly about themselves.
