These maps are really useful when walking. I took this map on a Duke of Edinburgh expeditionin the Peak District & it didn't stop raining. The other two maps we took fell apart, evenin "waterproof" cases, but this map was brilliant & shows no signs of wear & tear.

This latest series of maps from Ordnance Survey come as a double sided sheet that is laminated. This has many advantages, paticularly if you are an all weather walker. You can also write notes or mark your route on it,then wipe it clear, when you have finished that route & want to plan your next one. I find that they don't fold away as easy as the none laminated maps,as they trap air, when you fold them back up(you just have to squash them a bit).I think this will ease off with a bit more use.
