Another book that understands the concept of simple English - By: H. Young, 02 Oct 2008
I am currently taking Mathematics as a foundation course at LSE & Binmore's Calculus is the recommended text. I find this book to be far easier to understandin its explanations & the simple step by step guide to how to do it without the assumption the reader already knows the concepts unlike other Calculus books, highly recommended.
Very Good Book on the Subject - By: , 28 Feb 2006
Well, I have done Calculus I & II some 4-5 years ago, & I read this book (Although not very Thoroughly). About a month ago I realized that I really need to go through Calculus again & I was checking which Book should I get to do that. Well, I think this is a great book (Not Too-Much Neither Not-Much). It tells one as much as needed on the subject (Specially if you need to read it by yourself).
Nice and clear Calculus book - By: , 22 Oct 2003
This is indeed a great book on Calculus. Subjects are presented very clearly, so even a high school student like me gets the idea. The text is easy to read, not too compressed & doesn't overwhelm the reader. There's also nicely examples of applications, not just raw mathematics. However, I was quite disappointed about the fact that second & higher order differential equations aren't discussed at all.
Very good helpful book - By: byrnemat@gofree.indigo.ie, 28 Mar 2001
I used this bookin college. I found it a very helpful, useful book. It comes complete with pictures to help you understand what you're doing. Ultimately it's a most helpful book if you're looking for mathematical machinery to develop yourself to do mechanics etc. - it wasin maths methods that I found it most useful. This, the tenth edition comes complete with a CD rom to make learning even easier & more fun. I give it the 5 stars because I can't think of a flaw with the book. It does what it does (mathematical methods) very well. It's well worth the buy.
