Nothing false about False Impressions - By: R. Mcpherson, 06 Sep 2008
As this book was my first venture into an Archer book I must admit it was quite an enjoyable read that kept me entertained & did exactly what it said. However the book is not without its flaws, the main protagonist's somewhat cosy relationship with the Mr. Nakamura was altogether too convenient & served to fill gapsin the plot. The professional & private relationship between the main protagonist Dr. Petrescu & Jack Delaney was developed far too late for me to even care & I found myself wanting to read the exploits of the assassin Krantz & the predicaments she faced. If your after a page turner that turns at every point, you'll do no better than to delve into this novel. However,in retrospect however if you're after a more detailed character based plot look elsewhere.
Pageturner let down by the ending - By: Mr. P. Waters, 26 Aug 2008
Nothing further to add to the title really; enjoyed the high tempo cat'n'mouse yarn & how 9/11 provided an original context...
...However, the main characters live happily ever after & any revelationsin the final pages were predictable (yawn). That's entertainment I guess!
I was hoping for complete carnage at the end with the possibility of the next novel being from the perspective of Olga the Hitwoman (the most interesting character)... It still leaves the possibility of a sequel, as she escapes death, but I doubt it would have much commercial attraction to Archer's publishers. Happy to be proved wrong.
False Impression - jeffrey archer - By: R. White, 24 May 2008
Good fast paced story that really gets you gripped early. Has the added drama of being set at the time of the 9/11 disaster. Main characters interesting & well described.
Well worth the read

Jeffrey Archer is one of the best authors - I can never put his books down. This one is one of his best.
Nonsense yet a pageturner - By: Darren Simons, 29 Dec 2007
It's difficult to know what to make of this book... on the one hand it's easy-to-read & a real page turner. The characters are fairly simple to understand, the plot is fairly sequential, & I suppose you'd consider this good holiday reading material. Certain aspects seem very well researched & it's a book that's easy to put down & pick up again without having to go back too far.
On the other hand I would have expected more from Jeffrey Archer - compared to some of his earlier books this is several steps backwards. His characters are not believable, the storyline is far fetched to put it mildly, there's something just thoroughly unconvincing about this book.
If I was to make a comparison to anything I would actually liken this book to some of the Sean Dillon stories by Jack Higgins - a page-turner yet completely off this planet!
In terms of a rating, I'd give it five stars for being a page-turner, & one star for being unconvincing... so an average of 3 seems about right.
