What is she doing here? is the best book I have ever read (and I have read thousands) where she captures Antigona absolutely but with affection, admiration & respect. I wish all people could read this when they brainlessly pay lipservice to "illegals" & Kate's honestyin her own life as well is humbling to read. It is a real legacy of our century & she should be very aware of how important this work is to our society. It is not only Antigonas story but an account of how women still are balancing "housework" with outside work & throws up many questions as to why this should still bein the 21st century.

This is an excellent read - very thought provoking. It sits well alongside other bestsellers - The Two Caravans & A Thousand Splendid Suns. The author's empathy, especially with womenin horrifying situations & her integrity shine through. I became very involved with the characters & their story & found the historical reminders very helpful.
