russian made easy - By: ted harte, 31 Jul 2002
This book is extreamly well thought out, it logically progresses you through the languge, with carefull use of english letters to get you used to the sound of russian before dropping you into cyrillic.
The chapters are well thought out & do not overlap, allowing you to steadily progress through the book learning what you really do need to know toget byin Russia. The tapes are also very easy to follow & clear, it is nice to have a russian voice on the tape to allow the correct pronunciation to evolve!.
I can speak with some authority on this matter having a half russian family!. if you only buy one "learn Russian" book, buy this one!.
A great chance to hear authentic Russian - By: , 21 Mar 2001
Due to a lifelong wish to learn some Russian I could not resist buying this book, & I have certainly not been disappointed with it. I have found Russian to be a difficult language, particularly the alphabet, & this book contains a wide range of exercises to help with this topic. At the beginning of the book there is a pronunciation guide provided beside the dialogues, however further on the learner is forced to struggle with the Russian letters, which although difficult at first , becomes easier with practice. Although now far from fluentin Russian, this book has certainly provided me with an excellent foundation & I would highly recommend it to any one considering taking up Russian.
