Engaging and informative read- By: Mr. N. J. Francis, 17 May 2007 This text book, designed primarily for Consumer Psychology, is the perfect accompaniment to any such university course. Statt (a psychologist) writes fluently & interestingly about the major links between mainstream psychology & this applied field. The chapters are reassuringly short & give a good overview of each topic (for example, 'Attitudes', 'Personality' & 'New Products & Innovations'). Instead of referencing directlyin the text (which can be quite tiresome if there are many to cite), a separate reference list is included at the end of the book. Students may wish to consult up-to-date journals as well for the most recent research, & this would apply to any text book. Statt's witty turn of phrase makes this an excellent buy, & recommended over such texts as 'Consumer Behaviour' (Evans/Foxall), which give too loose & unscientific an approach for university level as they are written by marketing, rather than psychology, experts.
