This is by far the best & most helpful Soil Mechanics book I have ever read. I have never found it to be short of an answer on any area of basic Soil Mechanics.

Ideas & principles are explained clearly & concisely at a level at which those new to the subject will easily be able to follow. These first principles are then followed up at a greater depth.

Diagrams are plentyful & example questions together with case studies of Soil Mechanics problems appear at the end of every chapter.

For students & those trying to get to grips with Soil Mechanics I cannot think of a more desireable & friendly text.
