Customer Reviews

One of my all time favourite books - By: B. Walker-evans, 12 Feb 2008
I obtained this book free from a magazinein 1999 but didn;t read it until i was 14. From the first page, i was hooked & did not stop reading untill i had finished it. The story sucked mein & i felt as if i was alongside Colie, expericing the situations & memories she goes through. As a large teenager, i felt i could relate somewhat to how colie felt at times, & the story left me wanting more. Since reading this book for the first time, i have gone on to reading it many more times, & also to search for other books by sarah Dessen. Like all her other books that i have read, Sarah Dessen writes from a teenagers point & deals with so many issues & problems that many teenagers go through. Sarah Dessn is my favourite Author & i find all the books that i have read(that she has written) Brilliant. A book not to be missed out on & can be enjoyed by teens & adults alike.
last Chance - By: bexie, 07 Apr 2007
I have just finished reading this book & I got stuckin immediately. Although I generally am a fast reader, this book took me only an afternoon to read as I couldn't put it down. Dessen reaches out to the reader & speaks about so many problems that I as a teenager can relate to. Colie is a character who speaks to so many different people, & during the course of the story, the reader follows herin her own journey of self discovery. This book has inspired me to see the real person inside, & I most certainly will recommend it to any & all of my friends.
Last Chance - By: Emilly, 29 Jul 2006
"last Chance" follows Colie Sparks as she is forced to stay with her aunt for the summer, whilst her mother a self-made fitness guru tours the world spreading her teachings.
I stumbled upon this book about four years back. & I'd say it is my favourite book of all time to this date. I really identify with its main character "Colie Sparks"
Dessen does a superb job of pulling the reader into Colie's world & making you really feel the pain she feels.
It's a book of hope for any teen going through a hard time & a nice heart warming read to anyone else.
This book is not by any means a simple slushy feel good story, it has bite whilst dishing out morals & a few unexpected twists to emphasise the emotive content.
Dessen tackles the issue of bullying within the teen environment as well as tackling bullying amongst adults too & its this that makes the book really special to me as it reminds us that it's not just younger people who get bullied. It's an unfortunate thing that some people never grow out of bullying others & Dessen does well to remind the reader of this.
Colie is a strong character, yet Dessen shows how despite this she is effected by others emotionally.
This book is also now known by another title "Keeping the moon"
