A First Class Introduction - By: , 29 Dec 2000
This is an excellent introduction into the world & religion of Sikhism. Cole contextualises the daily practices & the Sikh philosophyin a clear & non-trivial way (triviality so often being a feature of such introductions). At the same time he directly addresses the historical roots & the issues, social & political, faced by Sikhs. This really is a worth-while book.

I converted to Sikhism some two years back & this book helped me to growin my new faith. Mr. Cole is an excellent writer & he has a real feel for his subject. He has shared the good & bad times of life with a number of Sikhs & this comes throughin his writng. A most excellent work & I recommend to anyone with an interestin Sikhism.
Do not waste your money on this book - By: , 04 Feb 1999
This is beyond doubt the worst written book I have ever read. An eleven year old essayist could be expected to have a more coherent thought pattern.
