Truely Magnificent Book! - By: Lurker, 28 Jan 2006
Ok, so i have been a fan of B5 for many years & have only just discovered this trilogy!

A great story that delvesin to the past of my favourite character from the B5 verse, i wont spoil, but long time fans becareful when reading this book as discoveries that are madein Books 2+3 are aluded to, especially concerning the Tech.

Enjoyable to no end.... - By: , 21 Jun 2001
I got the book a while a go, had some other books I was reading though & left it on my desk collecting dust. Picked up the book a few days ago & have read it all. I could not put the thing down. Great plot, nice descriptions which explained the unexplainable & gave a great insight into the history of one of my favourite B5 characters (Galen). I enjoyed the introductions to the other technomages, which was done quite well. The description of Anna was amazing, as well as the Vorlon transport reacting to Kosh. Can't wait for the next books.

And now onto the things I disliked. With B5, everyone seems to focus on the Shadows, I understand they play a major role but many overlook the Vorlons. They're my favourite race & I just wish someone would writein detail more about them. Psi-Corps trilogy had a little about the Vorlons, Centauri had precious little & this trilogy seems to be going the same way. Although the book 2 cover art looks promising. Little is ever told of the Vorlons, which is dissapointing to me. B5 was focused on the Shadows, Crusade was focused on the Shadows & now it seems the series to be 'Rangers' is revolving around the Shadows aftermath. This is just a petty preferance though, I thoroughly enjoy all of B5... I was just looking for something that would break off from what the TV series focused on.

I really suggest reading it for yourself though.

Time for a film - By: , 07 Jun 2001
This kind of writing is not that commonin SF adaptions. Along with the Psi-Corps & Centaurii trilogys, this is expanding the universe of Babylon 5in a way that conforms with the established history (and future). I wonder when JMS will run out of material. The attitude of the Vorlons towards the Technomages is predictable, but fitsin well. All I can say is you begin to see where JSM was going with Crusade when Galen learns a very special & unique bit of magic. Yeah. Great.
Mysteries of the technomages told - By: , 10 Apr 2001
If you ever wanted to know more about the technomages then this is the book to read. It fillsin some gaps from both Babylon5 & Crusade but the wealth of information given about the mystery powers of technomages & how they cast spells was enchanting. Having followed Galen through Crusade it was great to have more background to his character & his links to Elric who appearedin the 2nd season of Babylon5. I was trying to pace myself reading this book butin the end couldn't put it down. Cant' wait for the other 2 booksin the series.
Brilliant, Well worth the wait to read - By: fdundas@btinternet.com, 02 Apr 2001
The book was excellent to read, with the delvelopment of Galen into the role that has been created already, both by Crusade & the Centauri trilogy books.

The only fault I found was with the difference between the stages of tecnomages & their powers.

Apart from that, well worth the wait, & looking foward for the next installmentin July
