Well Written Contribution to the Spanking Genre - By: Clifford, 02 Mar 2007
Penny Birch writes erotic literaturein a variety of styles, & involving different scenarios, not all of which will appeal to everyone, even though spankingin its various forms is common to all of her work. Differences between the books of her oeuvre mainly arisein whether the spankings (and the sex) are M/F or F/F. This book is about a female postgraduate student, Isabelle, who normally dominates two other girls, but who is interestedin being dominated, & who is trying locate a group she has heard of who arrange spanking sessions. In this quest she is aided by a lecherous college employee, whose motives are distinctly selfish and,in the end, more than questionable. As she proceeds, Isabelle is indeed dominated, but notin the ways she would prefer, & indeed she makes serious errors of judgment. As other reviewers have said, the work is one of Penny Birch's best; whether it appeals depends on what varieties of stimulus the would-be reader is seeking. This book is stronger on F/F than M/F. As always with Penny Birch, the book is well written; Isabellein particular is strongly delineated.
Another Top Penny Birch Book! - By: , 12 May 2004
This is a very good Penny Birch book, so if you like her style, you'll like this book. It has a mixture of Penny's usual topics, both domineering & submissive women, & more than the usual assortment of rude & dirty men. The story continues the adventures of Isabelle from "Indignities of Isabelle", & picks up where the last book left off. Isabelle has fast become one of my favourite Penny Birch characters, along with Amber Oakley & Natasha Linnet. She's involvedin both dominant & submissive roles, & the scenes & characters are done with Penny's usual attention to detail & mood, making them very real & exciting. There are some great food scenes, & a wonderful poker game. Allin all, it's one of Penny's best efforts.
Indiscretions a winner! - By: , 27 Apr 2004
A great Penny Birch Book! It's a continuation of Isabelle's story, andvery well done. If you liked "Indignities of Isabelle", you're sure tolike this one. The story picks up where the last one left off, & goesforward from there. There's a bit more activity from Stan Tierney, one ofmany dirty men, both old & young, & lots of female domination, submission, humiliation & the misuse of food products. A lot of fun, butalways with a good, sharp edge to it. Isabelle is,in my estimation, rightup there with Amber Oakley as a Penny Birch character, so if you likeAmber, you'll love Isabelle. There is a poker game scenein this book thatis to die for. There are many other great scrapes that Isabelle & othersfind themselves in, all to my delight. Penny's writing never gets stale, and this book is no exception. I think she maintains her high qualitybecause of her empathy for her well-drawn, three-dimensional,all-too-human characters; she really cares for them, which makes it allbelievable, but, boy, does she put Isabellein some nasty situations. It'sgreat, & should be a part of anyone's Penny Birch collection. B.
