a good way to get the kids hooked on reading - By: Susan Belcher, 17 Feb 2008
I've been reading this to my friends children & they love it. Especially the youngest. He likes to follow the story while I point at the words. He even stops me when I miss a bit or make a mistake.
I will be moving the older ones onto the "Tiffany Aching" books this week.
It's a great book for kids (and adults too).
It's a great bedtime read for small children - By: S. Davison, 10 Jan 2008
I got this recently, it is now a favourite of my 3 year old daughter as a bedtime book. It is very short & a derivative of "Thud!" which makes it interesting for me & ideal as a five minute read before sleeping.
I do find it funny that it appears that Pete Postlethwaite modelled for the illustrations of Sam (senior).
LOVE IT! - By: Wok Girl, 10 Jan 2008
My 15 month old daughter loves this book. My partner got it as he thought it was an adult book but we read it for the first time to my daughter a couple of months ago & she insists on having it read to her every night (about 6 timesin a row!!)...we have even hidden it behind the sofa so she can't find it!
Buy it, read it to your kids, make sure you do the noises & voices & then read it again!
One hundred per cent pointless, but wonderful - By: Matt Westwood, 02 Dec 2007
If you resent spending that money on such as this, ask for it for Hogswatch. Like I did. But Please, Please, Please don't expect anything profound. You *know* what Discworld spinoffs are like now, surely?
total disappointment - By: marina, 25 Sep 2007
You would expect the author to be above such gross commercial act, but actually the book consists of a (very) few sentences lifted from the novel "Thud", accompanied by bland illustrations.
This is neither a book for children nor adults. No deeper meaning, here, nothing that justifies the expense.
Avoid it !
