Great Introduction - By: Manda N, 23 Apr 2005
This book gives a great overview of the russian revolution & is an easy & interesting read that serves as a great introductory basis for an A level student or even anyone whose vaguely intrigued by the subject. It is not as overwhelming as other books tend to be, & has a decent structured layout when explaining the different perspectives involved. I only gave it 4 stars because despite the positive factors of the book, it can only be used as gaining an overview & brief knowledge of the eventsin the russian & although this provides a little & not too complicated understanding,I was expecting more depth. On the whole it was a great book.
Very useful, but not in much depth. - By: annashaw@handbag.com, 17 Mar 2002
Although this book doesn't go into much depth, it covers the basics of Russiain revolution. There are lots of details on the key events & terms that you need to know for AS/A2 history. The book is divided into 2 parts; AS & A2. There are many summary questions, which are usefulin checking you've understood everything. It is especially helpful for the EDEXCEL syllabus.

The book is extremely useful to anyone studing AS level History or to anyone who has an interestin Historyin general.
The book covers all the important events from the removal of Tsar Nicholas II to the consolidation of Stalin. The information is presentedin a very easy & concise style. While as with any short textbook it is limitedin itsin depth information by its size it is a superb book from which to base your studies.
