One of the best - By: , 04 Jan 2005
There's no doubt that this very good solution to improve your knowledgein histology. The text is simple, clear & doesn't go too muchin details. The pictures are amazingly clear but at many places there coud have been better labels. This book presumes, especiallyin later chapters, that you know the previous stuff well, so many things that are mentionedin text are not indicatedin pictures & you have to find them yourself.
Good value text - By: Alex Ashman, 06 Oct 2004
This book has its flaws, but they are few & are easily spotted by any half-awake medic. The way the book combines light & electron micrographs is useful when learning the subject for the first time, & becomes indispensable when trying to identify the wide variety of pink blobs that make up Histology.
Excellent! - By: M. Ali, 02 Sep 2004
This book is the bible for histology.. concise yet deep enough to guage a thorough, illustrative understanding of what can be a very mundane n boring topic.. Well recommended!
Indispensable! - By: , 21 Jun 2004
Histology is never amongst medical students favourite subjects, though this latest edition of Wheater's has really 'spiced-up' the subject. The histological images are countless, crystal clear & accompanied by chunks of punchy descriptive text. The drawn illustrations now appearin colour, increasing the visual appeal & user-friendliness of the book, & compliment the histological sections perfectly. The authors consistently indicate the interplay between the histology & the physiology & anatomy of the various systems, making this text an excellent accompaniment to systems-based teaching. What's more, you even get a CD-ROM to view all the images on your computer!
Not so intresting - By: , 24 Oct 2003
It's acctually quite amazing that a book full of pictures of purple & pink blobs could be rated so highly. Aside from the many innacuracies (and I quote: "Epithelium, plural: Epitheliums), it is over priced & I can't even see much use for it, even as a self-defence tool.
