If you buy this book, you will be wasting your money, it is simply not good enough.

Yes, every topic is layed out on a nice double page spread, but surely its far more important that you get the right information, rather than being able to fit it all on a double page. this means that some topics are simple not coveredin enough detail, whilst others contain a lot of waffle, just to make it fill the double page.

psychological theories are never coveredin enough detail, & even when they are mentioned (which is not often enough) the explanations are not detailed enough.

The obvious choicein this fieldin the cambridge handbook, although it is pricey & not an easy read.
My recommendation would be ogden - its a good compromise between alder & the cambridge handbook.

Very goodin depth general coverage on basic pyschology. Excellent for any first year medic, & for those interested BUY IT NOW!!!!!
