In a word, controversial. - By: , 14 Feb 1999
While browsing through a bookshop one day, I happened to stumble upon this book. Out of mere curiosity I leafed through the contents. It proved to be informational & well-researched, providing information not only on the young prince, but also on the British Monarchy.
I couldn't help but feel disappointedin TEEN PEOPLE, though. As a member of an organization that tries to keep celebrities from being exploited, I felt slightly upset about this book. Prince William is a person, a teenager. As a human being, he deserves the basic rights that everyone is entitled to: love, security, & most importantly, privacy. I realize that throughout his life, Prince William will face much exploition, but right now he is struggling to grow upin a critical world. One misstep is publicized the world over.
The members of our organization boycott tabloids, but condone the publication of confirmed information through respectable news sources. We feel that TEEN PEOPLE has done a fairly good job of presenting information about the Princein a respectable manner. However, as you read this, try to imagine yourselfin the Prince's shoes: he's probably saying, "Oh great! Here comes another book about myself that teenage girls will go bonkers over!"
An excellent book about a spectacular Prince - By: , 05 Jan 1999
Full of photos, information, & tidbits, any person who adores the handsome prince will enjoy this book. My only reservation is that this is another attempt to "market" a popular member of the British Monarchy.
