Abnormal Psychology- By: sammy girl, 29 Oct 2008 This was the recommended text for my mental health module & I didn't hold out high hopes given the quality of past recommended texts, but I was pleasantly surprised. It goes into depth, but it's easy to understand, even the biological aspects of mental health issues that usually give me a headache. There are lots of examples of case studies relating to the topic being discussed. There are also focus boxes which contain interesting articles. The best thing about this book was the fact that it took you through the stages of disorders...starting with the classification, description, possible causes through to treatment, bot by medication & therapy. Th book not only describes treatments & causes but evaluates them too, which is a very useful base to build knowledge on.
