This book is great but if you want a great Rick Steins cookbook you cant go past "Seafood", it contains recipes from all of his other books & more. This is a good guide to his TV series, but for a complete seafood guide get a hold of his Seafood cookbook.
If you think fish isn't your thing, it will be after this. - By: , 15 Aug 1999 I have to say this is a great recipe book. As a keen, but novice cook, one of the best bits is the introduction where Rick explains, with photos, how to prepare fish. It certainly took the mystery out of it for me.
But the highest recommendation I can give is that I have been lucky enough to eat at Rick's Seafood Restaurantin Cornwall & attempted to recreate my meal using this book. I must say that the results were amazing - my Kingfish curry tasted almost exactly like my main coursein the restaurant & it was even pretty easy to make!
(Only 4 stars, because, as the previous reviewer says, photos for each recipe would be preferable.)

The book is an excellent collection of seafood recipes to treasure & try. It complements the TV series which it accompaniesin managing to convey Rick's enthusiasm & passion for his work. I wasin the UK when it was shown on TV early this year & was hooked for the entire series. His anecdotes for each recipe makes absorbing reading even for those who do not often go into the kitchen. His joie de vivre is especially infectious & is an inspiration to me. The book was a gift from a friend & I shall treasure it. My only complaint would be that not every recipe has a picture to accompany it. Apart from that, one of my dreams now is to have a meal at the Seafood Restaurantin Padstow one day & I suppose I can give no higher compliment than that.
