Not only did I listen raptly all the way to & from work for a fortnight, but I've ended up understanding how we've got to where we are. I know I'll listen to these tapes again & again & would recommend them to anyone. History comes to life - & how entertaining & informative it is. Superb.

This set was just as good, & went into just the right amount of detail & really put things into perspective; something that many historical exercises fail to do. Excellent listening!

I enjoyed each & every minute of this series, from home-to-work & from work-to-home. This Sceptred Isle, to me, presents the 20th century historyin a fashion that makes it come op life before my very eyes, my not being a scholar of British history. It continues the series This Sceptred Isle from 55BC to the death of Queen Victoriain a wonderful way. Treat yourself to this jewel & I assure you, you won't regret it!!!
