Very easy way to stop smoking - By: Tasha Richardson, 21 Jun 2008
This book has no only changed my life but also of my partner & 3 friends who also bought it. We were all smokers who had tried every thing to give up over the years. This was the book that did it for us. If only it was given out on the NHS, we could have all given up years ago. When you read the book you literally cannot pick another fag up again. This man has changed our lives & I will be eternally grateful.
Worked better than I expected - By: T. Noyce, 26 Jun 2007
I am the partner of Ms Wright, below. I borrowed the book from her and, with the utmost cynicism & complete sarcasm, read it cover to cover. At the suggestion of my partner when I was partway through I set a completion date to finish the book... not to quit smoking but to finish the book. I read a lot & this was a task I felt I could achieve.
It worked. Not because I tried to quit smoking but I believe there is a certain level of suggestion contained within the text of the book. Whether Allen Carr knew it or not I believe he draws on the same techniques the likes of Derren Brown actively use.
Read the book just as a book, like a novel. Don't expect miracles, don't try to quit smoking, just read the book.
Good concept - but not for me! - By: Julia Wright, 25 Jun 2007
I bought this book on recomendation from a friend about a year ago. I really did want to quit smoking & on the first read I quit for four months with no withdrawl symptoms & a feeling of freedom. As recommeded I carried on with my normal social life but eventually did smoke again. I read the book again after it had worked amazingly well for my partner (he is a now a non-smoker & says he will not touch them again) but this time it only worked for a month. I am still smoking.
I do think this book gives a different way of thinking about smoking & it really does work for some people. As others have mentioned, I think it is a one time deal. Being a psychologist myself I think I may have over psychoanalysed his material to my detrement.
It does work for some, & is easy to do. All you can do is try...

Great Book but could be ambitious claims - By: Andy Sparrow, 27 Mar 2007
A great book that once started seems to influence you towards quitting fags for good.
Bearingin mind that you MUST bein a frame of mind that wants to quit - its no good if you are grabbing at strawsin a vein attempt to find a magic wand - there isnt one. No matter what the book says you WILL suffer some form of withdrawl from NICOTINE.. its not that bad & wears off after a few days - so just stick with it - its worth it.. This book worked for me (but then I was ready to pack in) my wife hasnt found the same success with it (yet)- so it doesnt work for every one.
Definitly worth a read after all it costs less than 2 packs of cigs !!!!
If you really want to quit smoking - read this book, it really is easy - By: Annie H, 27 May 2006
I was a smoker for 20+ years, the last 10 of those being desperately unhappy that I smoked but unable to quit for long, & so hating myself for my own weakness & stupidity. If that strikes a chord with you then please give this book a try. I have been a non-smoker for a year now & a HAPPY non-smoker. I never looked back or yearned for a cigarette even once. Whenever I think about smoking now it is only to think how happy I am that I don't want one anymore, & only wished I'd found this book sooner. I never believed the book would work for me, butin desperation I tried it. It truly makes quitting easy, & more importantly I haven't spent my time since being a miserable ex-smoker.This book should be available to borrow from Doctors surgeries instead of people spending all their money on nicotine patches/gum etc. But this book has made such a difference to my life that I'd really like anyone who is as miserable as I was to just give it a go.
