Soap Box Opera drones on - By: N L R Willis, 28 Nov 2007
I am assuming that the review below, copied from the `Comments' area of this item, was the original review that the other two reviews refer to - so well done to all who got it deleted from the system.
I couldn't agree more with these two reviews on this item - this is a blank baby book for parents to fill in, with photos & text, as their baby develops over those precious first 12 months.
What does puzzle me is the fact that it got a positive votein the first place - unless the author is also guilty of voting for his own reviews which is quite possible given how his `helpful' votes whizz up - you only need to look back at the review pages to see how obtuse the subjects are & how suspicious the voting is, especially on items that have other reviews which have no votes at all?
<< Still One of the Best Children's Stories of all Time, 8 May 2007
The Tale of Peter Rabbit was writtenin 1900 & has stood the test of time very well. Generations of children have loved the story & treasured the books of Beatrix Potter. It is up there among the greats of children's literature with Windin the Willows, The Water Babies, Peter Pan, Treasure Island & many others.
In these days of computer games & electronic toys of one kind or another, books sadly are sometimes not as high on the list as they were a few years ago, perhaps that is why literacyin schools is not all that it could be. Personally as a child books were always my first love & Christmas would not have been the same without a Rupert annual.
Stories that involve animals as the main charactersin books always seem to fascinate young children & Peter Rabbit has always been up there with the best. Next time you have to buy a present for a child, or even want to treat one of your younger grandchildren for no particular reason. Instead of looking for the latest DVD why not buy them a book. Peter Rabbit is a good one to start with.>>

Blanket Reviewing Fails to Impress - By: Babes-in-Arms, 10 Nov 2007
This reviewer is one of the biggest offenders of blanket reviewing across all the modes...book/audio/baby/foreign languages, bookmarks....you name it...........it is a bad habit that Amazon let go unnoticed & purely a numbers game - let's get as many total reviews as possible regardless of the relevance or quality to jump up the league ladder - it is a sad game & questions the legality of the whole system.
It is this sort of reviewing which makes a mockery of the overall aim & the reviewing platform should not be an area for the older generation to launch attacks on today's society & learning, which they are clearly notin a position to do.
In the meantime this review should be deleted by the author, or Amazon - just report it as 'inappropriate' & it should get pulled.
The review system used to only allow the posting of one review on a title....then it changed to all modes....now it has reverted to the original, amalgamations now show the same reviewers' reviews .....which are just downright tedious & superfluous.
