beautiful and collectable - By: Ms. Vanessa Wagstaff, 30 Dec 2006
This is a real escape into Beatrix's world, writtenin her style of conversation & beautiful facsimile style reproductions of ephemera & letters bringing her creations to life. Best of all is the facsimile of the private first edition of Peter Rabbit at the back, a rare publication to have I think. Adults love it as well as children.
TOP KIDDIES AUTHOR REVEALS HER PERSONAL SIDE - By: M Richings, 09 May 2002
The name Beatrix Potter is as synonymous today as it was one hundred years ago but what of the Beatrix Potter the woman, what of her lifein her early womanhood, it is all herein this brilliant journal of the best part of her life from 1881 to 1896, her grandmamma's vivid recollections of her childhood, her dislike of Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone her vivid descriptions of the landscapesin Scotland & the lake District, all writtenin a code of which only she knew about, it is a truly wonderfully unique book, no other journal goes full-onin describing the political & social scenein this era as this one & I salute the late Leslie linder & Glen Cavaliero for making this document available to the general public, if there were an option to rate higher than five stars I would rate it 10 stars
