Everything I readin the papers about US politics makes more sense having read Doonesbury. Although a US political cartoonist, Garry Trudeau is also able to comment on many aspects of life that cross national boundaries.

By using good characterisation, he is able to add an underlying story on which to paint his political satire. I have not found anyone else who can do this. Read it every dayin the Guardian & then once your hooked, buy the book.
