Stiff opposition...- By: Pharma Giles, 28 Jan 2007 This has to be one of the funniest books ever about the crazy world of Big Pharma. Jamie Reidy has an easy, engaging style of writing that makes you feel he's telling you his story over a few beersin a bar rather than via the printed word. His insights into his introduction into Pfizer, his sales rep training & his subsequent mastery of the art of maximum personal reward for minimum personal effort goes a long way to explain why Pfizer have recently decided to shed 5,000 sales reps world-wide. What is crazy is that Mr. Reidy, when he finally decided to put his mind to it, was actually brilliant at his job. He shows that the instinctive personal touch, rather than corporate "by the book" spiel, is the way to sell. The book stops short of his subsequent career as a sales rep trainer at Eli Lilly, & how they fired him when this book came out. Reidy's insight into life as a pharma sales rep as provided here should surely be on every new rep's essential reading list. I look forward to the sequel & the film version...
