Got this as a gift for a three year old boy as I loved it so much as a young child. By the end of the day he had already started to learn the rhyhmes. Everything is exactly how you would remember only it's easier for small hands to hold & much more sturdy.

We bought this book because somebody has recommened it to me but I thought it would be to old for my daughter, 7months when we bought it. She LOVES it. I could read to her all day & am sure it will be a fav for many years.
Hours of Fun - By: Drifter, 15 May 2008
We had loads of fun with our kids reading this one, but not just at home. They loved it so much they had both memorised itin no time & would love reciting it if ever we went on walks, especially through woods & streams.
Very sturdy, high quality and fun - By: Maclennane, 02 May 2008
Our little boy got this book for his second birthday, & he loves it. I'm not sure he understands the story - a family go (unarmed) on a bear hnt & go through various obstacles, until they find a bear, which they then run away from - but he does very much enjoy the pop-up action features of it, and, three months on, he hasn't managed to destroy very much of it despite less-than delicate handling.
It only loses a star because the pagesin between are skipped past, & because he is mainly interestedin the page where the bear appears; meaning that I have to sit there for hours as he knocks on the cave 'door' opens it, growls & expects me to look shocked. There's also not that much to spot as you're working on vocabulary.
A good book, & a favourite at home.

My son is three & loved this book. The book has a lot of repititionin it, which younger children love. He almosts knows all the storey off by heart. The pictures are lovely also, adding something different with some pages beingin pencil drawings.
Definatley worth the money.
