Superb Autobiography of a Cinematic Spanking Submissive - By: Clifford, 14 Nov 2008
This is the autobiographical memoir of a young American woman, an actorin many memorable, high quality spanking movies. In any autobiography, the author will not, indeed can not give the whole truth, such as it is, & devotees of a practice that attracts both prurient interest & public disapproval may well be the least reliablein this. Particularly when the author admits to some earlier fabrication, as does Flynnin this book. However, the words ring (painfully?) true, & paint a credible picture of the events & emotions that befall a seasoned practitioner of the disciplinary art. Flynn provides much material of interest to the amateur shrinkin search of motivations for what many consider an `irregular' practice, but what comes through clearly is that she enjoys spanking for itself, & not as a `starter' for `something else'. The memoir also provides a valuable insight into the way the film industry worksin this speciality, particularlyin the case of the Czech company Lupus. Differences between Lupus & `others' are enlightening, too. This isn't really an erotic book, but it will be found interesting by those wanting to probe deeper into the practicalities of this particular branch of erotica as presented on film, & also, to a limited extent, on `the scene'.
Raw, honest, funny ... and sexy as hell :) - By: Pandora Blake, 06 Aug 2008
"Dances with Werewolves" starts out as a familiar, gossipy introduction to the spanking industry, full of recognisable figures & mischievous commentary. The narrative soon deepens, however, into an investigation of how Niki came to be aware of her kink & how it affected her growing up. Like many kinky people, Niki's desires manifested young, & like many of us she went through a phase of fearing that they were harmful & unhealthy, & despairing of ever having a "normal" sexuality. Her discussion of fantasy, consent, fear & discipline is sensitive & thought-provoking. Although she & I seem to be into similar things on the surface, the underlying motivations between mine & Niki's kinks are very different, & it was fascinating to read another perspective. At the same time as celebrating the broad range of human sexuality, Niki's story has enough common ground with my own for me to identify strongly her as she gradually explored her desires & her deepest self.
At this point the book deviates from my - & most people's - experience, as Niki decides to apply for a partin a Lupus film, having never done professional spanking work beforein her life. This brave leap takes her further up & furtherin to a compelling world of political, psychological, painful films that allow her to come face to face with the extremes of human experience. Her conscientiousness & self-awareness during her voyage of discovery are to be admired as much as her courage. Niki's a fantastic storyteller with a brilliantly dark sense of humour. Her honest appraisal of her desires & experiences make for compelling reading.
The book is a celebration of kink, a wry look at an industry that is both sublime & ridiculous, & a powerful story about fear, desire, & knowing oneself. If there are any films mentionedin the book that you haven't seen, you will come away wanting to watch them. And quite right too. Niki's influence on the world of spanking films has been positive & lasting. Her imagination, spirit & bravery has left a legacy of films that are, like this book, raw, scary, honest, challenging, intelligent & funn
A strange girl, but a delightful book. - By: Richard 'Houndog' Windsor, 22 Jun 2008
When I purchased the book I really had no expectations of what I was getting. I'll be really honest with you to start with, I bought the book to primarily support someonein the scene, though I was intrigued by the subject matter herself. If someone (Niki) had taken the time & effort to endure such a project, then I felt it a responsibility to support her efforts. As Ian Head from the London Tanners had said at the recent Florida Moonshine party "Please support the people who support you". What I got instead though was a book that I simply could not put down.
At the Florida Moonshine party Niki had signed my book "For Richard, Mr. Windsor - Sir. Welcome to my darkness. Love, Niki"
My plane ride had been delayed by a few hours for the journey home, I was bored senseless. My laptop was with me & I had a movie to watch for the journey back to New York. While waitingin the terminal I decided to pick up Niki's book & I figured I would read a couple of chapters before the plane was ready to board. That was a mistake to think that, let me tell you!! The first brief chapter covers some of the things that happen behind the scenes at a spanking shoot. Having been on a few of them myself I was able to nod & smile at this inside information. When we get to chapter two we were really at chapter one, as the title of this chapter is called "Strange Little Girl". This is where Niki begins with the biographical look at her life so far.
The self professed `Morbid Fantasies' of a child/teenager. While everyone else played house, Niki tells us of a mind consumed with thoughts of a vast array of punishments. Every spanko has done it, & now you can sit & read about it. You will probably be like myself who has always had a fascination with spanking, you will sit there nodding your head as Niki tells us about the conflicts one suffers mentally growing up with these desires. Of course, Niki's fantasies stretch FAR beyond just a simple spanking, lol. They are all about power & mind control & quite frankly, some of her desires are pretty shocking.
We follow Niki's life of being hiddenin the darkness right up to the awakening of Niki Flynn, the first actual mortifying spanking administered by her Sister's boyfriend, followed by her Sister actually spanking Niki herself!! By now I am on the plane & the movie can go stuff itself, this is far more engrossing. While it may be at a different level & with different circumstances, I get a feeling that I am reading my own story here. At the very least, every uncomfortable situation I ever went through growing up as a spanko is being written about compassionately, it provides almost like a comforting blanket of reassurance that you are not alone. For a guy who never reads a book I made pretty quick work of the first three chapters. But now we have arrived at chapter 4, my face grimaces a little bit, we have now shot forward to Niki's first foray into becoming an actress, & it is with the Czech company, Lupus. This simple spanko thinks he may have bitten off more than he could chew as we meet "The Werewolves From The East", what I didn't know at the time though, was that the next 100 pages would be my favorite part of the book.
This is where the real journey begins, & while the book will occasionally deviate towards other projects Niki has done, you are drawn to her work, passion, desire & commitment to putting her soul into her characters. Not only by playing them, but by becoming them. If ever a person has suffered for her art, then Niki Flynn is that person. The four films that Niki has made with Lupus are the main binds that hold this book together. The other projects, the readers letters, the fan mail, the behind the scenes look at spanking shoots are all great to read, & once you have developed a mindset as to who Niki is, then you appreciate so much more what is being written about. In my honest opinion though, the work Niki has done with Lupus & which overall, interspersed, covers about half the book, is what really defines who Niki is & what she is really about. Her passion & commitment is made even more remarkable when you consider that every time Niki goes to Prague to shoot a film, she probably doesn't even cover the cost of her trip with what she receivesin payment. It is a real labour of love to submit to not only the torture she suffers, but when you consider that she is probably out of pocket to do so makes it just that much more amazing. If my written review of Niki's book isn't enough for you, then that statement alone should make you want to buy a copy.
"Support the people who support you"
Niki is about more than just spanking, it is about character development. When on a film set Niki has a boyfriend with her who helps her get into character, & sometimes this makes for the most powerful reading. One time she is a hostage about to be released to her own people, this after suffering horrendous amounts of torture & brainwashing, even losing her only friend because of Niki's characters perceived betrayal. On an abandoned railway track her boyfriend stands beside her & hisses at her, telling her that she was to blame for losing her friend & that she will never be forgiven. That her family will be shamed by her as she stands therein the bitter cold, rain soaking her disheveled formin her dirty, torn clothes, her eyes like cold stones. When she is released to her German rescuers, one Fatherly figure motions to his companion to give her his coat, this simple act of kindness is too much for Niki to bear as she has now become her character, she breaks down crying. It isn't the first time & it won't be the last. Just when she thinks there are no more tears left her character narrates what she has already filmed. Niki became Nikolaja, & the strange thing was, once the shoot was over, Niki didn't want to leave Nikolaja's headspace, there was some type of serene comfort there.
When I bought the book I had no expectations whatsoever, what I left with was one of the best autobiographical stories I have ever read. Maybein part that is because I am a spanko & it is a sort of confirmation about my own feelings & desires, but the actual book itself holds its own merit as an extremely well written piece of literature as well. Niki is a fabulous writer!! Trust me when I say this, if you arein the scenein any way, shape or form, this book is essential reading!! Even at 45 years old & with 29 years of active spankingin my life, this book has helped me come to terms with my own acceptance of who I am & what my feelings are. It was very cathartic to read & it reminded me that while I may be `Different' to the general population, it is okay to be that way & I shouldn't compromise what it is that I wantin the lifestyle. You will NOT be disappointedin buying this book, it will capture your imagination & you will more than likely appreciate your own acceptancein the lifestyle a little bit more once you have read it.
Well done Niki, you should be very proud of your efforts & I for one, absolutely LOVED reading about your life & what makes you tick. It is a fantastic read that I couldn't put down no matter where I was, whether it be on a plane, the subway, or even on the bus ride home from work.
I urge you all guys, & I rarely shill for anything, BUY THIS BOOK!! If not for yourself, buy it for a scene friend or a partner, it would make a great gift. It gets my highest recommendation & you can purchase it from these direct links.

Breathtakingly Honest - By: Aishling Morgan, 05 Feb 2008
Niki Flynn's book is a rare thing, an erotic memoire that is neither a hagiography nor a condemnation. Instead it is balanced, providing an honest, open account of her time as one of the world's best known & best loved spanking models. The writing is simple & clear, her intelligence evident throughout, allowing no room for misinterpretation of what she is saying.
To anybody familiar with the secretive, exotic worldin which she moves her story will be instantly familiar, both with respect to events, thus proving her veracity, & to her feelings, which provide the most important lessons of the book.
First & foremost, if, like Niki & so many others, you feel that you are alone, without a soulin the world to share your unconventional & socially unnaceptable sexuality, her book will help you realise that you are not.
Secondly, that strong, independent woman can & do come to terms with their own sadomasochistic needsin a way that goes beyond simple acceptance to an ability to gloryin that which many would comdemn & others attempt to "cure".
Thirdly, that women can & do making these choices of their own volition, not through necessity, nor by coercion.
Inevitably there will always be doubters & critics, but Dances With Werewolves brings a new honesty to this often misunderstood world & I recommend it to anybody interestedin the subject, for if you have not read it, then your knowledge is far from complete.
A well crafted book; definately must read - By: Alastair Williams, 30 Dec 2007
One might expect that this book was written for mere erotic voyeurs & therefore would never reach a wider audience. It deserves a much wider audience. It is a finely honed & crafted book which includes an insight into an area where one would not usually expect such an honest & explanatory text. It mght not be suitable for minors, but it deserves be read by a large adult audience. This book allows the reader into the life & reality of one person who is probably unique & certainly not "run of the mill". You may not get a buzz from the events she writes about, but you should have your eyes opened & mind broadened as you begin to understand & realise that we might all be different, but maybe we should all be tolerent of those who enjoy & believein their own pleasures without hurt to others.
