Excellent - By: Slow reader, 19 Aug 2008
It normally takes me months to read a book but this one had me hooked within minutes; I couldn't put it down & managed to read itin just two days.
As with all of Jill's books, everyone ended up with the most suitable partner; getting there was both tortuous & a delight, although at times the hoped-for outcome seemed out of reach. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Don't Bother - By: anon, 07 Aug 2008
This book gives a bad name to chick lit. It is impossible to get into, & the plot & characters leave you thinking "so what?" Overall not an enjoyable read, & by the end I was glad to have finished. Hugely disappointing. This will not be getting read again!
Dreadful, tedious, ridiculous rubbish - By: H. E. Wood, 20 Jul 2008
To say I hated this would be an understatement. The plot lines are stupid, the characters shallow & vile, & as for Mansell's "wit" - I've met funnier dead people. I don't like chick -litin geneeral, & this is just about the worst example of the genre. A truly banal, vacuous use of good paper. The first Mansell book I have read & I will not be reading another.
Faith restored - By: B4 member, 11 Jul 2008
This book restored my faithin Chick Lit. Whilst all the other established Chit Lit authors seem to be turning out instantly forgettable reads at the moment this made a refreshing change.
Jill Mansell did what she does bestin this book, providing a perfect combination of dashing heroes coupled with heroines that aren't so perfect that you're left feeling inadequate. Mixed together with a touch of humour that she does so well
A fascinating read - By: Ms. S. King, 10 Jul 2008
Well I have to say, after reading all of Jill Mansells books this is definitely my favourite! I got straight into the book & loved the stroyline! The story tells of a girl named Lola who is with dougie. The story starts off with dougies mom offering lola 10000 pounds to finish with her son. Lola is appalled by this & refuses point blank - until she discovers a terrible secret & she has no choice but to take the money & finish with Dougie. The story then goes to 3 years later - & shows a twist of fate bringing Dougie & Lola back together, with lola still loving him as much as ever, but Dougie discovers she was paid to break his heart, & because Lola doesnt want to tell him the truth we wonder can she ever get him back???? Shes got her work cut out but can he forgive her? This story is brilliant with lots of twists & turns - I couldnt put this book down & to me that shows its a good book! Definitely buy this its brilliant!
