The truth on the psychedelic experience - By: Petrus Pennanen, 18 May 2008
Many books have been written on people's experiences with psychedelics. Mostly they have lengthy accounts on how people felt this & felt that, & neither the author nor the ones having the experience seem to understand or to be able to convey clearly what is the logic & messqage of the psychedelic experience.

This book tells the truth clearly. If you want to understand psychedelics, this is the book to read. And if you don't care about psychelics but just want to understand how the consciousness works, go ahead & read it. After all the psychedelic experience is just the normal functioning of the mind with its sensitivity heightened & fluidity amplified by a chemical trigger.
Don't take book seriously - By: D. Miller, 05 May 2004
Please dont even raise a serious thought to this 1960's red herring. Nobody can control an Lcd trip for religious use or otherwise. Whilst people was being encouraged to tunein & drop out & read this book most ended up with the bad experiances of Acid. Meanwhile Leary was living it upin europe while most followers livedin a very poor way indeed. Only buy for nostalgic view or research.
oh dear oh dear oh dear - By: , 07 Apr 2003
Just a warning for those interestedin the buddhist faith. This book is incredibly misleading, I am a practicing buddhist & i feel it is my duty to tell you that the fift precept that the buddha gave us was "avoid intoxicants". Whilst this book offers valuble new age teachings & advice on the psychedelic aspect of drugs he does not give you any insight into genuine buddhism & has badly misinterpreted the ancient text.
a Leary must have - By: , 06 Aug 2002
what a book. anyone even mildly interestedin the more psychedelic drugs, & the infinite possibilities for mind-expansion involved with them must read this stunner.
Leary relates the freeing of the consciousness back to ancient Tibetan wisdom of life with incredible clarity, pointing out the advantage we now have of being able to 'shortcut' the years of spiritual training & discipline usually needed to attain Nirvana.
even if you don't dabblein drugs this is great introductory reading into ancient Buddhism.
